Nova’s Confidence Checklist for School

Print it, stick it on the mirror, and check it off together every morning. Nova made Meltdown so every kid walks into school feeling confident and kind — here’s how she does it.

Every morning 🌅

☐ I looked in the mirror and said one nice thing about myself.
☐ My hair is mine and I like how I did it today.
☐ I stood tall, shoulders back, chin up.
☐ I picked one person I’m going to be kind to today.

At school 🏫

☐ I gave someone a real compliment (not about stuff — about them).
☐ I raised my hand at least once, even if I wasn’t 100% sure.
☐ I sat with someone who was alone, or said hi to someone new.
☐ If someone was unkind to me, I told a grown-up I trust. That’s brave, not tattling.

Tonight 🌙

☐ I told my grown-up one good thing that happened today.
☐ I told them one hard thing too (if there was one).
☐ Bonnet on. Braids protected. Tomorrow’s me says thanks.
For grown-ups: The two questions Nova’s family asks every night are “Who were you kind to today?” and “Who was kind to you?” Five minutes, every night. It changes the room.
